Hello All,
As you may know, on June 29th, 2018 it was confirmed that Ashley was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma).
As a true to the definition of "couch-to-marathon" 30yo woman who has never smoked, rarely drinks, and is always eating healthy the news of cancer hit us like a ton of bricks.
She is an amazingly compassionate and strong woman, but it is no secret that with the impending treatment her mental and physical strength will be put to the test like never before.
Ashley is scheduled for a round of chemotherapy to start and possible radiation thereafter. She will then proceed with a double mastectomy surgery once cleared to do so. Best case scenario is somewhere middle of 2019 she will be back to 100%.
I write this with a heavy heart and some obvious request for support as the monetary requirement for the necessary treatment is going to result in a large sum.
Handout vs. Hand Up
So you are aware we are and will be contributing everything we can......we will be picking up extra work, cutting corners where we can, and doing everything to ensure that the total burden not only for us, but for those of you who have already offered support and will do in the future is as minimal as possible.
If you can and do want to donate please know that just like everyone else and in the truest sense of the phrase...from the bottom of our hearts thank you. All donations will be recorded, documented, and paid towards medical expenses.
Lastly,
I want everyone to know that Ashley is the love of my life and deserves every wonderful thing that life offers her. She is facing an animal many have faced before and will do with ferocity and while it may sound counter-intuitive and counterproductive, do not feel obligated to contribute. If you can contribute something as small as a phone call then I promise you we will be eternally grateful. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Kyle
