On November 11, 2014 the Streetdog Foundation (SDF) founders braved freezing temps, in the middle of the night, to rescue Betty Rubble and her 4 Flintstones Pups; Bam Bam, Barney, Fred and Pebbles. The pups are happy and healthy 17 weeks old!
Betty is having a rough time. Living her life on the streets of Memphis, having litters of pups has taken a toll on her body.
Through the SDF Betty has recieved her micro chip, vaccinations and Heartworm treatment. Betty was heartworm heavy and was very I'll during treatment.
Betty now has a loving Foster home. She's been eating healthy foods and gaining weight.
While Betty was delivering her pups in her "cave" one pup became stuck in her birth canal. Betty pulled the puppy out which caused a painful vagina prolapse. She is going to need a Vulvoplasty surgery. This surgury will reconstruct her vulva and place her vagina inside her body.
During Betty's spay our veterinarian noticed some unusual growths in Betty's uterus. After the biopsy we were told that Betty has cancer. Treatable cancer! She is now receiving chemotherapy at a wonderful caring hospital.
Due to her cancer, Betty's body has been fighting mange, she also has infections in her eyes.
The estimated costs of Betty's treatment is as follows: Vulvoplasty $1,000, Chemotherapy $2,000. She is in the hospital during her treatment $25 per night and recieving mange treatment $200.
It is my hope, as well as the Streetdog Foundation's that our fans, families and friends will help Betty Rubble. We want her to be healthy so that she can be happy and enjoy her life and not just survive.
Thank you,
Haylie, Betty Rubble, and the Streetdog Foundation
