Betty and Dave Lowman
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jean Wilson. Many of you know longtime Baba lovers, Betty and Dave Lowman. You may also know that Dave (Tractor Daddy, so named in affection by Bhau Kalchuri) was recently diagnosed with an incurable frontal lobe brain tumor and is currently resting at home under hospice care, with Betty as his primary caregiver.
While hospice can provide basic comfort measures and attends to Dave a few times a week, the Lowmans will require help for Dave's additional care. In-home professional health care, to attend to Dave's needs and to provide Betty with occasional respite, is financially demanding. This GoFundMe request is for monetary assistance to help Dave and Betty through this difficult time.
Betty and Dave have contributed so much over the decades in service to Meher Baba, both within our Oregon group and far beyond. Betty generously devoted her time and skills to providing children's care and activities at many gatherings in Oregon and California. For some years their home served as a site for Sahavas; Dave loved hitching a wagon to his tractor and hauling guests "up the hill." More recently Betty has been prominent at many Baba Zoom events, often serving as emcee. She has always been exemplary-even indispensable-in her service to the greater Meher Baba community.
Now the Lowmans, in turn, need our help. Beyond immediate healthcare necessities, they had been committed to selling the Scotts Mills, Oregon property that has been their home for many years (Baba House, also named by Bhau during a stay there) and returning to family in California. The property will need much attention in the coming months to prepare for the sale this Summer. While some of the work can be performed by our local Baba family, professional services-cleaning, hauling, and repair will be needed at a level beyond what volunteers can provide.
Any contribution given in love will help...
