On October 4,2022 Betty dashed out the front door, she saw a deer and chased it all the way up on to RT 78. She was hit by a car. The person who hit her did not stop, luckily another woman saved her life and picked her up off the road. Kyle heard her screaming and ran up to find Betty in her arms injured.
Kyle and Susan rushed Betty to red bank, she was not moving and bleeding from her rear end. They did an exam and her heart rate was very fast and she could not stand. After hours of waiting they were finally able to get an X-ray done. They did see broken bones but did not know how severe they were or if she would ever be able to walk again.
The next morning she needed to be transported to Tinton falls to see a neurologist, surgeons, and needed a CT scan.
CT scan showed she has a misplaced sacrum (closest bone to her tail) two broken vertebrae and a broken pelvis. She is having surgery today for 10/8 for her misplaced sacrum. Doctor says she will be able to heal her pelvis and vertebrae on her own with a very long bed rest and physical therapy.
Betty is only 1 year old and has a long long life ahead of her. Let’s Please help us get Betty back to her spunky energetic self. She loves to run, chase and play and she will not be able to do it without the healing and physical therapy. All donations will go to her vet bills, physical therapy and help with her healing process.
