Betty Lou's Family Trip to Italy (ND Janitor)
Betty Lou has been a proud member of Notre Dame’s building services crew for 24 years this August. If you have ever crossed paths with her, you know she radiates kindness and greets strangers as if they were family. I had the privilege of meeting her while working in Duncan Student Center, and she shared with me her life story — her love for her family, Italian heritage, and humbling faith. Although she has lived a life full of gratitude, her dream has always been to visit Italy to meet her relatives and experience her native culture. Despite the steep travel costs, she remains faithful that the Lord will provide and prays one day she will have the opportunity to visit the country her family calls “home”. She humbly asked me to pray for her family and her lifelong dream; however, I would also like to also share her story. She is more than deserving, and I hope the Notre Dame community can help make this happen for her!
For a member of the ND family who has given so much over the past few decades, please consider giving back by supporting Betty Lou's dream!
**All donations will directly support Betty Lou's travel expenses. I, Caroline Aey, am in no way benefiting as the organizer of this campaign.
