Bett's life after a stroke..
Donation protected
Hello Family and Friends,
4 months ago today the sun was shining, warmth was in the air but life would never be the same again. Kissing my mom goodbye for work, my dad had no idea what would be waiting for him only a few short hours later.
Between 6am-7:15am my mom, Elizabeth (Bett) Eleftheriou suffered a massive left-side MRC stroke. This left her paralyzed on her right side and significant cognitive challenges. Her journey to recovery began with teaspoon sips of water, and after almost 3 months in various treatment centers she came home in August.
Still bound to a wheelchair, Bett is determined to once again walk independently, cook and bake for her loved ones and live a high quality of life. From the beginning she has referred to each therapy session as "her work" and knows a positive mindset is vital to her recovery.
She's an incredible woman who is known for her kindness, generosity and truly caring about those in her circles. For many of you reading this she has cooked for you, provided you with resources, listened to your woes and always been someone you can rely upon. It is now time for us to help her!
In order to make her house safe and accessible, many new modifications have been made. A new ramp and entrance way into the house was built, renovations to her bathroom and a new power bed a just to name a few.
With cold, snowy weather just a few short months away we are hoping to raise enough money to help purchase a wheelchair that can be used in the winter.
At this time both of my parents do not have sources of income, leaving them with immense financial strain as well as taking care of my mom. Until someone wins the lottery, it is going to take her friends and family coming together to help take some of the burdens off of their plate.
Please consider making a donation to help off-set some of the never ending costs accrued from having a massive stroke. All funds raised will go directly to my parents to help pay for modifications to their home, medical bills, and equipment.
Thank you for your time and donation!
Kind regards,
Alexa Plewa (Eleftheriou)
