Adapting Mark's Bathroom for MS

Donation protected
I am Jane McKlveen and I am raising money to adapt a bathroom for wheelchair access for my brother-in-law - Mark McKlveen. Mark has Multiple Sclerosis and lives with his parents Bob and Leony. Bob and Leony have been taking care of Mark for nearly 10 years now but now Mark's MS is at a point where he cannot walk. The house is small and his wheelchair doesn't fit through the doorway to the bathroom and the doorway to his bedroom is so narrow that he cannot manouver his wheelchair into the bedroom by himself. Bob and Leony can't lift him and Mark can't walk. At the moment they have to man-handle him into the bathroom using grab bars and he falls a lot. When he falls his only option is to crawl out back into the hallway - through to his bedroom where he can be helped back into a chair. He has wounds on his knees that won't heal because he has to crawl, and even that is becoming more and more difficult.
Bob is a retired Navy Chief and still works for the DOD so Leony is Mark's main caretaker during the day along with a part-time care assistant provided through medicaid. Leony is legally blind and has just had a knee replacement. Without help they will not be able to continue to care for Mark.
We need to raise money so that the bathroom can be adapted for wheelchair access.
The doorway needs to be widened and a handicap accessible sliding door needs to replace the existing door. The bathroom is so small that a regular door cannot be fitted as there wouldn't be room to close it once a wheelchair was inside. The commode needs to be replaced and strengthened , the sink needs to be replaced with a wall mounted fixture that allows for the wheelchair to go under it. The linoleum tile needs to be replaced with tiles so the floor is flat and stable.
The bedroom door needs to be widened so that Mark can push his own wheelchair through the gap.
We consulted with a contractor and Mark's physical therapist to come up with a plan for the space which will allow Mark to continue to be cared for by his own family in their home.
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you thank you!
