Eight teachers are currently living at the Sayulita Elementry school on Avenida del Palmar, sharing just four small rooms.

Some of these teachers leave their own babies and families behind during the week so they can come to Sayulita and teach our children.

They work hard every day for our community, for very modest salaries and with very limited resources. And when their school day ends, they return to tiny, basic living spaces, 2 people sharing a 10 × 10-foot room, without air conditioning, in Sayulita’s intense heat and humidity.

These teachers give so much to our children.

For those of us who live in Sayulita, they are not strangers. They are part of our community. They care for, teach, encourage, and support our kids every single day.

Now it’s our turn to take care of them.

We’re raising $5,000 USD to create additional living space and install air conditioning so these eight teachers can have a safer, cooler, and more dignified place to live.
