Hello, wonderful people - acquaintances,
strangers, friends!
My name is Shenduhan or just Shoni
Today I want to introduce you to my daughter Huyla, my miracle and of course - my pride!
I struggled for 8 years with my fertility. I was unable to conceive, despite desperately trying and 3 rounds of IVF. In 2020 i was finally successful. i was blessed with a full term pregnancy, and my wish after all these years to become a MOM was granted.
It was difficult during the pandemic, i did not receive the standard antenatal care or regular face to face meetings with my midwife.
On the DATE i attended hospital, I was suffering with bleeding.I was anxious but also happy to finally meet my baby who i had waited almost a lifetime for.
I gave birth to my beautiful baby. Within moments my feelings of happiness disappeared as the first words i heard from the doctors was that my child "was dead". Hulya suffered oxygen deprivation during labour. Huyla had almost no heart rate. My ears are still ringing from hearing these words. I watched morrified as the Neonatal nurses frantically rushed to incubate my baby and give her the oxygen she so desperately needed.
We remained in the hospital for a further 3 months. Hulya underwent numerous tests and assessments whilst being on mechanical respiration.
I could not even enjoy those few moments as a new mom, as to my disbelief the doctors kept urging me to take pictures, which would be my FIRST and LAST before as they said " pulled the plug" (switched off her life support machines)
All my hopes had been shattered. They asked me to consider "the memories"
I wonder what memories they tell me ?! Would this be the best memory for me ?!
I prayed for a miracle, i argued with the doctors for them to simply preserve my babys life. I persisted and refused to back down. I waited all my life for this moment, and within a flip of a switch they wanted to end her precious life. I could never allow such a thing. Huyla has been my everything before i even met her.
