Friends of Mtshabezi Hospital

Please help us raise funds to improve health provision at Mtshabezi Mission Hospital.

We are children, friends and associates of Mtshabezi Mission and Community. We would appreciate your help towards renovating and upgrading health provision at the rural hospital seventy five miles south of Bulawayo Zimbabwe.

The 120 bed hospital operates under the banner of the Zimbabwe Brethren In Christ Church. It was built in 1924. The original buildings and equipment are still in use and need extensive renovation. The long standing country's declining economic situation and more recently the covid pandemic, have brought untold suffering in the surrounding communities, with the hospital almost falling apart, making the situation dire for all recipients of health care in and around the area.

Examples of projects are that the labour ward needs a complete overhaul. A solar system is required to power and provide hot water as well as refrigeration and lighting. The buildings are delapidated and need urgent upgrading. The hospital relies almost entirely on voluntary donations for all funding. Our contribution would therefore go a long way in adding to dignified and respectful basic care provision to the community at large.

Besides the wider community, also reliant on the hospital's health services is a primary school with about 675 pupils, a high school with about 1000 pupils and a Bible School Institution that provides learning for various agricultural endeavours. As we can see this hospital serves a large geographically diverse rural population and the demands on it are colossal.

All the money raised through this fund will go towards the many improvements that need to be done at the hospital and we can not mention all of them here. With fluctuating prizes in Zimbabwe we can not give a definitive cost of each project, however we will keep you updated on each and every progress of a project as we come back for funding for the next project. A list of projects that need to done is available on request.
