Dear Supporters,

My name is Kimberly M. Garvin, and I am an elementary school teacher in College Park, Georgia. I’ve dedicated my career to nurturing young minds and creating inclusive, engaging learning environments for all students. Over the years, I’ve noticed a growing need to better support our male students—many of whom face unique academic, emotional, and social challenges that aren’t always addressed in traditional teaching methods.

To meet this need, I’ve been given the opportunity to attend a transformative professional development workshop [Reaching and Teaching Boys] at the Ron Clark Academy, Ga specifically designed to help educators like me learn how to more effectively teach and connect with male students. The workshop dates are November 13th-14th, 2025 and offers research-based strategies, hands-on training, and expert guidance that will directly impact how I support my students in the classroom.

Unfortunately, the cost of attending—including registration and travel —is beyond my current means and cannot be supported by the district in which I serve. That’s why I’m reaching out for your support.
