Hello Friends and Family,

Tragedy stuck close to home with my eldest sister Valerie Herring and her sons. On August 9, 2022, 8 families became homeless including her and her boys when an apartment fire destroyed their building. Each family involved lost everything. Many of the families were elderly that lived in the apartment complex for years. In situations like this, you never know what to do and who to turn to. So, we come to you humble and hopeful. Sharing personal aspects of life has always been tough but sometimes we need to open our mouths and ask for help.

The fire was intentionally lit by an individual that didn’t even live in the complex. His anger and unsettling behavior displaced so many families and left them fleeing for their lives. Here they stand trying to find their footing and pick up the pieces.

My sister lives on a fixed income and helps with the care of my parents. Her sons work but have been unable to do much of anything due to the fire. Their apartment build was deemed unsafe to enter and a complete loss. She has insurance but that will only cover so much. They are in need of everything.
