Betsy’s Vet Bill
Betsy fell over a waterfall in NC. Money raised will help pay for her vet bills.
Details about her accident
My son threw a tennis ball and Betsy lost her footing and went down a fairly steep waterfall/stream in Whiteside Forest near Fowler Creek.”
They found her after her big fall, almost 24 hours later. They rushed her to three local animal hospitals who could not treat her before they ended up at West Carolina ER.
Fortunately Betsy was found after her accident. She is in critical condition and being treated at West Carolina Emergency Animal Hospital and we will have more information about her prognosis within 24 hours, we hope.
Details about her condition:
“She aspirated water/pond scum. She has a pneumothorax. Her O2 sats are low/mid 90’s on blow by. She is lifting her head when the door opens or people come around. Her lungs are her biggest concern right now and she is critical based on her chest x ray. Starting her on antibiotics to try to prevent pneumonia. She is resting comfortably on pain meds. Now we wait and pray that she continues fighting and turns a corner.”
He is totally surprised and amazed at how well she is acting and breathing given the state of her chest X-Rays and trauma that she suffered. Apparently she was pulling the nurse around when she took her out to potty. That’s our girl ❤️.
Update 6/13: Betsy is at another hospital under care of veterinary specialists. She has blood filled pockets throughout her lungs and pneumothorax, but has managed to remain stable. They are hoping to do her leg surgery tomorrow in order to preserve her quality of life.
