Hi everyone, I’m fundraising on behalf of my mother, Beth. In October of 2019, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Beth is a mother of three adult children. A Mimi to four young grandchildren. Loving wife to Chuck, my dad. She beat colon cancer in 2020, but unfortunately it returned in 2021 in her liver and lungs.
She had to stop working in November 2022, which has taken a major financial toll on our family. In recent months, her health has declined dramatically causing many hospital stays and medical bills. As of February 2023 she has required 24/7 around the clock care, along with the home health nurses coming twice a week (the cost each time is pretty high).
Due to this I have personally had to drop down to working part time. Also, my dad has had to significantly reduce his hours working as well to ensure that she is getting the best care she can receive along with staying on her medicine schedule.
Her former oncologist said she was too weak to try any treatment plan. The new oncologist we met with today (May 2023) said she is too young not to try! So she will be starting chemotherapy treatment next week, which is a huge step in the right direction. With her starting this new plan of care, our family will need to take on additional responsibilities. This means we will be missing more work hours, needing more home health visits, seeing new doctors, and adding new medications that go along with the chemotherapy.
We are asking for help as we navigate this new journey. My mom doesn’t want to give up, she is strong! Anything is appreciated and would help our family so much. Please keep her and our family in your prayers and thoughts!
