My name is Megan. My daughter’s best friend Skyla of 5 years lives with her grandparents. Steve and Beth Corbin. We have came to love this sweet little family like our own. They are so giving and thoughtful. I know she is embarrassed and hates asking for help, but getting 1 more chemo could mean prolonging her life.

Steves health declined within the past couple years, leaving Beth taking care of him and working full time. He had two brain surgery’s and has back issues.

In December I found out that my friend Beth was going to have a total hysterectomy. However, that was not possible and when we found out she has stage 4 cancer with 2 tumors. The cancer is twisted in her bowels and intestines. She was given 3 months to live without chemotherapy. With chemo maybe a couple of years. After chemo there is a possibility of her having her hysterectomy, if one of her tumors has shrank. Then after she heals from that they can go in and take out part of her intestines. Then she would need more chemo. Unfortunately, her cancer is not curable, this would just give her a better quality of life.

The problem: her insurance will not cover anymore chemotherapy after this 3rd time. Her last chemo is scheduled Wednesday. For her to have another chemo it’s $3000. She can not afford that out of pocket.

She is also trying to work and I am really not sure how she is managing every day, but she doesn’t have a choice. She has bills to pay and a family to support.

She checked into disability and it would take 6 months, but she would have to be out of work for 3. Again she can not afford to do that.

My hope is to at least raise $3000 for her 4th chemo treatment. And anything over that would go to help with bills so she can stay out of work long enough to be able to apply for disability. And of course there’s the chemos after surgery.
