Beth and Her Family

Donation protected
Beth Lowrey and her children are from Dad's side of our family and are some of the most resilient, loving people I've ever met. No matter what, they are always there for each other. I've never seen siblings so close and a family who shows so much support and strength during unimaginable times. Beth would never ask for financial help, but our family has been where they are. I have been there...so I am asking for her.

Her son Noah just had a Lumbar Spinal Fusion (the same surgery she and I both had to have a few years ago) last week and is at home now recovering in a back brace and using a walker. It was during my fusion that my mother left her job for over a month to live by my hospital bed. I know that sacrifice first-hand. Beth has had to split her time now this week between Noah at home, and her daughter, Alyssa in the hospital fighting a separate battle. Alyssa has been inpatient but is being released today with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (her body is attacking her own red blood cells)  and they are struggling to find a suitable blood donation that will make a transfusion successful. She is having her immune system suppressed and preparing for repeated, regular transfusions.

Beth usually works as an RN in the emergency room, but has been unable to work while caring for two of her three children. She is surrounded by love and emotional support, but all of the upfront medical costs have added up and so are the every-day bills and costs of staying in the hospital. She will not be paid while she takes FMLA to be with Noah and Alyssa. Her oldest daughter, Amber is also taking time to be with the family and share the load.

When I've expressed my guilt for my mother putting her life on hold to be with me in the hospital and during my recoveries, she has always said, "I couldn't have been anywhere else"- I know this is Beth's mindset as a mother too. Please help this family keep their heads above water in the near future, as they have a long road ahead of them.
