My name is Christie Keith and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my younger sister, Bethany. She was diagnosed with clival chordoma, a rare form of brain cancer. It affects 1:1 million, so only a handful of doctors are familiar with it and able to treat it properly. You can learn more at www.chordomafoundation.org
She will have surgery at MD Anderson in January 2017 and will remain there for several weeks (5-8) afterwards for M-F proton radiation treatment. This page is to help with medical costs, travel expenses and other necessities.
If if you are able to give, it is much appreciated. We also ask for prayer for Bethany and our family. While a surprise to us, this is not a surprise to God. We know He is with her through all of this.

"So, we all know how special I am... I now have proof of this. I was diagnosed with a clival chordoma; a rare tumor/cancer within the skull. I am LITERALLY, 1 in a Million; like I have been telling everyone all my life! :) I was born with this, they arise from the notochordal, a structure that appears in embryonic stages and guides the growth of the bony skull and spine. No one locally can handle this sort of thing, so off to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas we went. They confirmed the diagnosis and treatment is surgery and radiation.
After meeting with this group of doctors, I felt a calm come over me, and knew I came to the right place. Our journey will probably begin at the first of January, but nothing has been confirmed yet. I have a great support group of my wonderful hubby and daughter, my parents, sisters, church family, friends, and the list goes on! Prayers and happy thoughts for all involved are what we ask for and we will continue to update everyone when we know more.
I AM FINE - my sense of humor is intact - ONE IN A MILLION PEOPLE!!! Awesomeness has been taken to a new level!!!! BOOM! #oneinamillion #chordomafoundation #igotthis
