Bethany and Oleg's Accident Recovery

Hi, I am Amanda Cooke, the mother of a tremendously hardworking tattoo artist, Bethany Weberg. She and her wonderful boyfriend, Oleg Ostapiv, were in a motorcycle accident April 4th, when another driver negligently pulled out in front of them on highway 264. Oleg's injuries were extensive and life-threatening. He broke his right hip and fractured his left tibia, his right ulna and left metatarsal & clavicle are fractured, and he has broken ribs. He had to be sedated and intubated for 24 hours and has had two 8-hour surgeries so far. He will not be allowed to bear weight on his legs for 3 months. Bethany had a compound shin fracture of her right leg, dislocated her left hip, and broke her right ulna. The right arm break will prevent her from working for up to 12 weeks and she cannot bear weight on her left leg for 6 weeks. Not only will there be a loss of income, we are going to have to find a temporary dwelling for a few months. Their current apartment has 2 flights of concrete stairs outside and another staircase inside and cannot accommodate a wheelchair. They also have 3 dogs that will need to be placed with them. They will need a lot of help when they are released from the hospital such as with personal care, meals, transportation and errands, as well as attending to their furbabies.
