Beth & Taylor bring a baby into the world

To our friends and family,

Most of you know the journey we've been on trying to get pregnant or at least a part of that journey. We have been trying since May 2019 with no successful pregnancies or even positive pregnancy tests. We have been working with a doctor specializing in infertility since December of 2020. In February of this year, we went to another fertility specialist in Houston on our doctor's recommendation. At that meeting, the doctor noted that even though I am healthy and all things look good for us to be able to conceive, it is my age of 42 that has not allowed us to get pregnant. Statistically, getting naturally pregnant decreases exponentially from 38-40. At 40, it is less than 5% chance, at 42, it is a 1-3% chance. She flat out told us that if IVF is even an option, we need to do it and do it now. Thus began our exploration for the top fertility centers in the States. Recommendations of friends and co-workers led us to Texas Fertility Center based in Austin. TFC works with patients both locally but also work with many who come in from out of state and abroad, so my situation is not unique to them. This location also allows us to stay with my parents in Austin during various processes and medical care that will need to happen at the facility.

As you may be aware, IVF is very costly. As we are currently in the middle of renovations on our house and Taylor is not able to work due to his major knee surgery, we are at a point where we need some financial assistance to make this a reality. It is with utmost humility and gratitude to present this to you, our dear ones, to give what you can to assist us in this process.

My doctor says there is a lot of hope even with my age as my bloodwork, ultrasounds, etc look better than normal for someone of 42. I am currently in my first prep cycle. Then next cycle/month, I will be prepping for the egg retrieval. I will gladly keep anyone who wants updates apprised of the process and progress. Our heart's desire is to be parents, we had hoped it would come naturally, but God often has His own ways, even when we don't understand. So, we trust the process and move forward with this journey.

To note, we also have looked into adoption, and it is not off the table by any means. However, it is just as costly, if not sometimes more, to adopt a child.
