In Loving Memory of Beth Peters
It’s with heavy hearts that our family — Dad, Angeliek and Brian — share the passing of our beautiful mum, Beth Peters.
On Tuesday, 13 May, at Back Beach in Streaky Bay, Mum lost her life in a tragic accident. While fishing with her dear friend Aida, Aida was swept into the ocean. Mum went in after her, doing what she always did — putting others before herself. Dad also tried to save them and came close to losing his own life.
We are incredibly grateful to the local Streaky Bay surfing community, SES, SA Police and Ambulance services. Their quick and brave actions brought Mum and Aida back to shore, giving our families the gift of closure. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts.
Mum was kind, generous and full of love. She was always helping others, always putting other people first. She touched so many lives and will be missed more than words can say.
In her memory, we’ve created this fundraiser to help us honour her in a lasting way:
- With approval, a memorial bench at Back Beach, a peaceful spot where people can sit, watch the waves, look for safe places to swim, and take a moment to reflect.
- Funeral costs.
- Donations to the local community, SES, and the Streaky Bay surfing community, who gave so much in our time of need.
Instead of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation. Every little bit helps us honour Mum’s life and give back to the community she loved and that helped bring her home.
