: Beth Needs Us: Surgery Went Well

June 13th, it's been over a week since surgery and Beth is progressing daily with the help of home PT, friends and family. We are blown away by the response to this fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far, and a big thanks for friends and family who fave reached out.

6/3/25 This is Flora Diehl, Beth's Mom. I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of Beth (Mary Elizabeth) Johnson. As many of you know, due to progressive spinal deteriation over the past two years, disability has progressed and she is faced with lumbar spinal fusion surgery on June 4th. Please consider helping Beth through this difficult time, with medical related expenses as well as cost of living expenses. She has always been so generous helping others in need and now she needs us.

After a year and a half of treatment with medication, physical therapy, and intervention pain management procedures, it has been determined that surgical intervention is the next step. She has been unable to work since November 2024, without income since then. After healing from the lumbar spinal fusion, her Neuro Surgeon will address the issues in the thoracic spine and create a plan for medical intervention.

In addition, once Beth recovers from this initial surgery, she is scheduled in September 2025 for removal of five cataracts (involving both eyes) and necessary lens implants.
