Beth Llanos Fund
Donation protected
In 2006 my sister Beth (Zumbach) Llanos was diagnosed with an oligodendroglioma brain tumor. This type of tumor is slow growing and benign but eventually takes over brain functions, with a life expectancy of anywhere from 5-10yrs. She had her first brain surgery around 2006 to remove the tumor and then a 2nd surgery about 6 years later to remove another tumor, or at least what they could remove at the time, as it was starting to spread into difficult areas of the brain. After many good years through healthy lifestyle and positive vibes from friends and family, the tumor began to grow back. Since surgery was no longer an option, Beth decided to go through chemo and radiation last year. After a challenging year in-and-out of the hospitals, my sister has now lost most day-to-day functions and is confined to a bed. She needs help with bathing, eating, changing, and all other daily activities the rest of us take for granted. Her husband Paul has been amazing at taking care of her and their two boys, but is now at a point where he must take a leave of absence from work and hire in-home care, out-of-pocket, to help with daily chores (not to mention the expense of multiple lifts, ramps, wheelchairs, hospital bed, etc.). A meal train has been set up to help with meals during this difficult time, which has been extremely helpful, but I know Beth also has a network of friends and family that do not live locally and want to help. I therefore decided to set up this GoFundMe page to help my brother-in-law, Paul, with the growing expenses of taking care of my sister. Any small donations you can give to Beth’s family will go a long way and will be greatly appreciated.
