Bethany's Endometriosis Surgery Fund
Donation protected
We are raising money to help fund Bethany's next Endometriosis surgery. For three years now, we've been going through a yearly cycle of ER visits to help manage pain, capped by a laparoscopy to help surgically remove cysts and clean up endometriosis.
I've seen firsthand the unpredictable timing of pain that can surface and the indifference that the medical community can show when trying and failing to provide a long-term solution. This next surgery is a step to move beyond the yearly cycle we are in.
We want to help get Bethany back on track with her ASL interpreting career and working full-time. Endometriosis has put a hold on both and we aim to make this next surgery on the helps get back on track.
A yearly laparoscopy cannot go deep enough to fully remove all the endometriosis tissue, so we find it growing back each year. Hormone therapy is also just temporary and their other option, a hysterectomy, isn't acceptable right now. We don't want to rob Bethany of her choice to have a child...at least not yet. Bethany hasn't given up hope and has found another option does indeed exist and that option is closer to home that you'd think.
Located just miles away at the Advanced Women's Health Care in Scarborough, Maine, which offers access to a specialist to perform an excision surgery. This surgery presents an opportunity to go beyond what the three years of surgeries, doctors visits, pain meds, heating pads, sick days, etc can provide. The catch, is that this care center does not accept insurance.
As a result, we are here to help come together and raise funding for Bethany's next (and hopefully final!) surgery.
The first step is a consultation.
The second is scheduling the surgery.
We'll keep you updated with progress, giving updates from our initial visits to leading up to the surgery, impact this has for Bethany, and probably some cute dog photos of Max & Marcel . From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate all the help, love, and support. Thank you!
