Hi, my name is Margaret and a good dear friend of mine is in need .
I have known Beth since 1983. She’s been a major part of my life. Beth has always been a hard worker, a go-getter, and a very independent woman.
Moving out of her family home very young, Beth put herself through school to be a registered nurse. She has always addressed her job with the upmost seriousness and integrity. Beth worked nights most of her career and all through the pandemic while suffering physically and mentally with a debilitating disease.
Nursing was her dream and has become a major part of her life, but her health struggles make it impossible for her to continue pursuing her desire to help others through her work in the medical field. Suffering with her illness she has always treated her patients with the compassion and empathy they deserved. Her ability to help others was worth the pain, agony, and stress she suffered, but her body is no longer up to that constant work.
Over the last 10 years, Beth has suffered with severe Crohn’s and IBS. She has spent most of those years traveling back-and-forth to doctors taking whatever shots and medication they could give her to attempt to hold back some of the effects of the Crohn’s so she could continue to work. In the end CROHNS won. This has taken a toll on Beth’s quality of life over the years, causing her to have severe depression as well. Once completely independent financially, Beth and her husband Kevin find themselves in straits so dire that they have agreed to move in with Kevin’s mother in order to cut their living expenses. Even big changes like this are not enough to ensure their economic security.
Most of us can relate
to the stress and depression heavy, unrelenting medical issues bring to even the most productive and helpful people. The last few years of pandemic lockdown and loss have helped many of us to empathize with those suffering debilitating illness and unsure futures. Few would have more heart and empathy for those who suffer such than Beth would—after all, she has dedicated her life to helping others through the very trials she faces now.
Due to Crohn’s disease and the severe depression it means , Beth has had to step away from the workforce and her dream job. This has been very hard on her and has drastically magnified her depression. Her intense pride and lifelong independence makes it very hard for Beth to ever lean on anybody or even ask for help. Now, though, Beth recognizes her serious need for help as she continues to battle illness. She has applied for disability, but the court system does not move swiftly. Beth needs help soon to survive. As much as she has done for strangers, it is very appropriate for friends, family, and strangers as well to help Beth in this stressful time of need.
Illness has taken a tremendous toll on the life together Beth and Kevin have built. Even as they make drastic changes to their life right now, their financial distress and need grows. The sudden loss of her ability to work has turned their lives upside down, but we know that the loving support of generous people like you can help them to establish security in the face of incredible heartache. On top of it all they are having to
move in with Kevin’s mom.
Change is hard and takes time
I understand that right now we are all feeling the effects of inflation in our own pocketbooks, but contributing together we can achieve great things to show Beth and Kevin the support they deserve. Please if you could be so kind to reach into your purse and make a donation to help Beth and Kevin, there is not a donation that is too small.
All Donations go through PayPal with your credit card or debit card and are completely safe.
If you know Beth, you understand this is not a position she has ever wanted, but I know she will feel very loved once she sees how deeply her community values her.
I want to thank everybody for taking the time to read this. Even if you can’t spare the donation, please share this fundraiser.
