Beth Ann (Coffin) Currie Final Expenses
Donation protected
Beth Ann Currie unexpectedly passed away at home on May 2, 2020. Due to Beth's medical condition, the family is burdened with significant debt. I (Beth's brother in-law) have organized this fundraiser, hoping we can all come together to assist with the funeral expenses in a very difficult time.
Thank you for considering. I know this is a very difficult time for many financially. Any amount you are able to give will help and is appreciated.
The funeral home is also accepting donations directly.
Her obituary:
Beth Ann (Coffin) Currie, 35, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 2, 2020 at her home in West Paris, from complications of spinal muscular atrophy.
Beth was born in Norway on May 1, 1985, the daughter of Wayne and Bonita (Brackett) Coffin. Beth lived with her mother, Bonnie, and stepfather, Gary Waterhouse. Beth married the love of her life, Matthew Currie, on August 28, 2012 in West Paris.
Never bounded by limitations, she frequently and routinely amazed and inspired all whom she encountered in life with her joyous determination.
She graduated from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High, class of 2003. In her twenties she spearheaded “Beth’s House,” a community project to build her a safe and accessible home. As an advocate, Beth followed medical research, raised awareness, and offered support and fellowship for others within the SMA community. Her most recent victory was treatment approval for the pioneering drug therapy Spinraza.
Family and friends near and far are heartbroken. All who knew her quickly appreciated her sarcastic wit and humor, kindness, and enthusiasm.
In addition to her husband, parents, and stepfather, Beth is survived by stepmother Christine Diffin, siblings Amey (Michael) Lewin, Misty Brackett, Devin (Jen) Coffin, Jennifer (Dean) Waterhouse, and Deanna (Drew) Waterhouse, Grandmother Natalie Coffin, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by Grandparents Albert H. & Hilda Johnson Brackett and Robert Coffin.
Due to the unusual circumstances of this time, we intend to gather family and friends together for a celebration of life when it is safe. Private interment is planned for Stuart’s Corner Cemetery, Harrison. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes, 45 Main St., South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.chandlerfunerals.com.
