Beth and Khalid need our help!

Donation protected
Khalid and Beth Sa’idd have had a rough year and could use our prayers and financial support at this time. With her permission, I am coming to you all to ask for help on her behalf.

Beth was diagnosed with Leukemia about five years ago and has over time tried many treatments. Before COVID, she worked for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. When her team returned to working in the office, she was not able to go back to work full time given her health. This is when she took the part time role of secretary at Macland. And does a tremendous job!!

In July 2021, Beth ended up in the hospital very sick. She was told to resume chemotherapy for her Leukemia, or be checked in to hospice. She chose chemotherapy. It has been a roller coaster journey trying to get the right chemo and dosage amount to work for her. She is not there yet. It is an ongoing process of doctors, blood tests, trial and error. It is exhausting and draining physically. It is also draining financially as it costs her a great deal with each visit to the doctor. Her July hospital bill was over $20,000 alone.

Earlier this month, Khalid went to visit his family in Jordan to spend some time with them as he does every year. On Sunday, April 17, he was involved in a single car crash that has left him in King Abdullah Hospital, in Jordan, in critical but stable condition. He has already had one surgery to remove the blood from his skull/brain area, and had part of his skull removed. He is in an induced coma and on a ventilator at this time to help his body rest. He has multiples of fractures from his head to his legs, including his jaws, frontal lobe, ribs, vertebrae, and legs. Khalid has proven his strength by surviving the last 48 hours. Just a couple of months ago, Khalid became a US Citizen which means he traveled to Jordan for the first time as a foreigner. Because of this, he is lacking health insurance in Jordan at this time. He was transferred from a government hospital, which would have provided free/reduced fee services, but had to be transferred to a private hospital, because of the extent of his injuries. Beth is not allowed to travel due to doctor’s orders, so she has to remain stateside during all of this, leaving his care in the hands of his family. Beth is going to need financial assistance to help cover his medical needs. If you are able to contribute any amount is appreciated. His recovery will be long and extensive, and it is possible that later on, when he is able, he can be flown back to the US, by the Embassy in Jordan, to continue his treatment. For now, we wait and pray. Even if you are not able to contribute, your prayers are certainly appreciated!!
