Beth and Doug: Honoring a Lifetime of Love and Activism
Donation protected
Beth and Doug’s love story has always been one of deep connection—with each other and with the people around them.
I met them organizing and fighting for justice through SEIU Local 1984. From the beginning, I looked up to them. They became family. My union "Brothers and Sisters." They were the kind of people who didn’t just believe in making the world better—they showed up and did the work, together.
Through their years of union activism, community involvement, and deep personal integrity, Beth and Doug touched countless lives. Their partnership was grounded in love, purpose, and the kind of strength that lifts others up.
We are heartbroken to share that Doug passed away this morning, May 2, 2025.
Beth has been carrying him through with the same love and courage she’s shown throughout their life together. Now she faces not only the heartbreak of this loss, but the many expenses that come with end-of-life care and planning.
Beth has always been someone who showed up for others. I want to help make sure she’s supported now.
If you’re able, please consider donating to help Beth with the immediate and ongoing costs ahead. Every contribution helps give her space to grieve, to breathe, and to begin to heal.
Thank you for loving them, and for showing up in this moment.
With love and solidarity,
