BEST FRIEND GOING HOMELESS!!!
This campaign is for a dear friend of mine, named Charles, who's been put in a tough ultimatum with his living situation on the line.
This all goes back to summer of 2016; Charles had learned that his mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. By this time, he was in a stable 9-5 job after being out of work for a while. But when news broke to him, he took time off to take care of his mom. This resulted in his termination at this job.
Back at home, Charles has three family members that he'd been living with: his mom, his step-dad, and his socially awkward dog, Delilah. For a long time they had been putting his mother through intense chemotherapy. It worked for a little while, but eventually the cancer had metastasized to the brain. She died late 2017, shortly before Christmas.
After her death, Charles was finding himself deep in unfortunate circumstances. He was unemployed, he was grieving, and his step dad was now paying rent on the house instead of his mom. His step father, in the mean time, had been attempting to pawn his mother's jewelry for beer and cigarettes.
Life for Charles was much different at this point, he had trouble finding a job, he became cripplingly depressed, and for all of 2018 he was unable to pay off any expenses to take care of himself and feeding himself, his step-dad and his dog on food stamps. All he could take in solace was games, shows and Delilah. This was routine for Charles until July 1, when his step dad gave him a receipt of all the expenses that Charles owed.
Now he wants Charles out of the house. Charles currently has two options... One, he can live with his sister and give up Delilah, the pet who's been with him through all of this. Or two, he and his dog can be homeless. Neither of these options are real wins for him. That's what this is about, I want to give him a third option where he does win:
My plan to help Charles is to raise $10,000 so that he can pay off his expenses, get a car, and move to an affordable apartment outside of his hometown. And still have a small buffer so that he can afford to live during the painstaking moving months. He can get away from his step dad, and live a more comfortable life where he can just restart.
He needs to get these funds as soon as possible. That way he can be out of the house as soon as possible. If you guys have a social media page, or something else, please share this across any platform you guys have. I'm worried a lot for him, as he's been one of my best friends for four years and I don't want him to make any sacrifices he can't make.
