Bess has been selected to take part in the North West Guiding International Community Experience (ICE) trip in August 2025. The trip is to Dubrovnik in Croatia and has an environmental theme.

During the trip, the Guides will be working an environmental company that recycles and reuses waste plastic. They will be going out on a boat to collect waste plastic from the sea and learning how it is cleaned and repurposed to make sunglasses and jewellery. It is an amazing opportunity to see behind the scenes as Dubrovnik works towards becoming a Net Zero City.

To raise funds towards her trip Bess has been recycling and selling second hand clothing and books, has run games at a Christmas Fair and has some bake sales planned. Over the Easter holiday she will be doing a sponsored walk the length of Morecambe Prom from Hest Bank to Heysham and back to raise more funds.
