Our car died last week.
Morton, our Beloved 2006 Honda Pilot finally gave up after over 430,000 miles of love and dedication to our family.
We're trying to find a similar car--another decent used Honda Pilot, around 10-12 years old that's been taken care of and has about the same amount of starting miles (100-150k) to get us through the next decade of working and family life.
But we are broke. We're a low income family, and like many struggle from month to month, and week to week. We have a modest loan from my Father, but after having to rent a car for several weeks, mechanics bills, and days lost from work, we're probably going to find ourselves short in finding a car like this we can afford.
We're hoping to reach a goal of 2,000-5,000 more dollars, which would make us able to pick from good and very good choices of used Honda Pilots.
If we exceed our goal, or have money left over, all funds will be set aside for future repairs and maintenance on the vehicle bought.
Many thanks in advance to all of you.
