Berwick Literary Festival has no large sponsor or grants from national bodies, but relies for funds on local sponsorship, ticket sales (but not in 2020), its Patrons and small charities. Almost everything is done by volunteers; and businesses that support us are struggling after lockdown.
Rather than cancel the 2020 Festival we are determined to deliver a compelling and wide-ranging programme, as our website shows, but online doesn’t mean we have no costs. So if you believe that a successful literary festival is important to north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, or if you have enjoyed one of our sessions, we would appreciate your support to ensure that the 8th Festival comes back in 2021.
