Our sweet 5 year old pup, Bertie, slipped in the yard playing fetch resulting in a badly torn ACL. Due to overcompensating with the other leg she suffered a 2nd tear in the opposite leg within a week - requiring 2 separate surgeries to resolve.

Our girl is a playful, high energy pup and unfortunately not doing these surgeries would result in a health decline, immobilizing arthritis and quality of life we just don't feel is fair for our young pup. After a tremendous amount of research and support from friends we have found a subsidized vet clinic in VA that will perform these surgeries for $5,000 per leg (I know, insane). In a year of many financial hurdles and job changes we are not close to being prepared for this kind of expense. We hope between savings and side hustles we'll be able to build up to afford her 2nd surgery closer to the spring but as her 1st Valentines Day surgery fast approaches we could use the help of our community to be able to make this happen.

Our wonderful vets at Anicira Veterinary Center have her on pain and anxiety medication for the time being and she lives in the lap of luxury getting carried outside for her bathroom trips. We don't ask for this support lightly as we know the past few years have been challenging for all of us. We’d love to give something in return for this help but at the moment we can only share deep gratitude from the bottom of our hearts.
