Hello all!

First, thank you for taking time out of your no doubt busy day to listen to a fellow friend, co worker, or maybe even stranger. Second, the reason you are visiting this page is probably because you know one Bert Osborne. He is a wonderfully talented, kind, charismatic friend, cook, and veteran. The following is his reality over the last few months of stress, injury, and just unfortunate luck.

If you know Bert, you will know that he rolls with the flow with relative ease. He works in a busy kitchen and consistently churns out nutritious creations of delicious food for a youth program in Monroe, Washington.  A few months ago his lovely wife took a rather severe fall and has undergone a few surgeries and has been on the mend ever since. While this may seem like a small hiccup to some, it has required Bert to drive her to and from work as she is not able to drive safely by herself. Medical bills are piling up and recovery, as most are aware, doesn’t come cheap.

If that alone were the sole bump in the road, maybe you could slowly plug away at the bills and find the courage to combat the stress, but sadly, this is the beginning of an unfortunate trifecta.

Fast forward a few weeks: On his way to pick up his wife from work his car spontaneously catches fire and he injures his hands trying to help keep it under control until the local fire department could arrive. Though the cause is still unknown, the impact of this traumatic set back is impossible to miss. As a cook, im sure you can imagine it is with great difficulty that his daily responsibilities are met with sensitive hands and a growing stress count.

As if that wasn’t enough, the universe decides to throw in another curve ball. While returning home from work last week his only other form of transportation was rear-ended in a high impact collision that sent his vehicle spinning several times and in a bent up mess. Though physically he is as good as can be expected, the trauma of so many car accidents and extreme situations has taken a very real toll psychologically. I would expect anyone who has undergone so much in such a small span of time would feel similar.

Our goal is set at $20,000  (Update 4/21) over the next few weeks, for medical bills, down payment on a new car, attorney fees, and maybe some wiggle room to take some days off from work to take a beat and address their family needs together.

What is being asked here is a call to action. While there may be little we can do to prevent further unfortunate circumstances from happening, there is still a lot that can be done to help support this courageous family. Good vibes, thoughts, kind words, any amount of donations, are appreciated. Please help us help someone who deserves all we can give, and maybe someday the darkness surrounding these unfortunate events can be made a little lighter.

Many thanks and love to all,

It is truly appreciated.
