On Tuesday night (August 18th, 2020), our family ranch was evacuated due to the Lake Hennessy Fires. The next morning we would come to find out that though our family and animals had made it out safely, the homes, property, and belongings left behind had burned down.
We have been extremely fortunate and grateful to have so many of our friends, family, and colleagues reach out asking what they can do to help. While insurance will take care of most things regarding structures and furniture, there are a few things insurance may not cover - things like meals, pet supplies, clothing, equipment, gas (to and from the property), and much more. So many of you have offered ways to help that we set up this GoFundMe as a convenient method for streamlining any donations and well wishes.
We know that amidst a pandemic, wildfires, and virtual schooling, most of you have a lot on your plates as is. Please do not feel inclined or any pressure to donate, as we appreciate your kind words and support just as much! This is only for those who have expressed a desire to help further and have the means to do so. We truly cannot tell you how immensely grateful we are to be surrounded by so many kind and thoughtful people.

The Story Behind "Pioneer Ranch":
"Pioneer Ranch" was essentially built from the ground up by the late Gary Bertagnolli and Kathy Bertagnolli, just outside of Vacaville, nearly 33 years ago. It was their dream to maintain a small piece of land surrounded by the good company of nature and animals. Since then their dream has been experienced firsthand by our family, the communities, animals of all kinds, and many friends. And with the passing of Gary Bertagnolli the ranch was inherited by Amy and Ron - together with the help of Kathy and Kyle, they have spent the last three years building up the property, providing a new home for Kathy to live, and raising critters of all sorts. With perseverance the ranch will be restored and we hope many of you can join us when it is.

- The Barn
- The Workshop
- A little goat house for the tiny goats
- And a stone cellar (predating my grandparent's arrival to the property)
