Bert Moldow  dedicated his life to causes greater than himself.  In his last decade of life, he became passionately focused on saving the planet for the next generation.  This included advocating for the decommissioning of the San Onofre nuclear power plant and the safe storage of spent fuel rods in Southern CA, and, as Director of Laguna Woods Village, promoting the adoption of energy efficient technologies (Solar, LED, Fuel Cell) throughout the 18,000 person community.

This donation will be divided between the Concerned Citizens of Laguna Woods Village and the Union of Concerned Scientists to fund environmental education programs, including the Bert Moldow Memorial Environmental Lecture Series.

Bert would have been thrilled to know that his passion for environmentalism will carry forward via educational programs designed to spur others to take action.
