Bernie's Electric Wheelchair

For family and friends who have been asking / wanting to help Bernie in some way, this is it!

As many of you are aware... just over a year ago Bernie had his left leg amputated just above the knee.
What you may not know is that the amputated leg was Bernie's "good" leg. He had been put on disability a couple years shy of retirement because of troubles with his right leg. Walking was very painful for Bernie before he lost his leg. It is now nearly impossible for him to bare weight on his remaining leg.
With a very graciously gifted scooter Bernie has been able to get around much easier, but it has limitations. He can't use it inside his home and it's awkward in other situations like trying to sit at a table in a restaurant.
After much red-tape and waiting the government has finally approved to subsidize about 75% of an electric wheelchair. Unfortunately, the remaining amount is still in the thousands.
