Imagine being told that you have a rare disease and that there is no cure, you only have 2 to 5 years to live.  On top of that you will slowly lose your ability to walk, use your hands, talk, swallow and eventually breathe. That is the news that Bernie Mosley got in January 2018 when he was told he had A.L.S. Since then he has researched survivors, copied their treatment regimens and fought like the warrior we know.
Bernie has spent the last 22 years of his life serving others. He began his career as a police officer in 1997 and now serves by training police officers at the police academy. He is married to his high school sweetheart and has a daughter and son. There were many times he would have to sacrifice time with his family to rush to the aid of others because duty called. He would also rush to help out anyone who called him for help, family or friend. Whether it was help with a mower that wouldn’t start, car problems or even a computer giving you fits, he would rush over to help fix it. He would always do it with a smile on his face. Now Bernie is the one needing help. All of the treatments he has found are natural and therefore, not covered by his insurance. These costs for supplements, acupuncture, holistic treatments are expensive, especially when included in addition to the other medical costs. Stem cell treatments are available out of country and depending upon the treatment center start at a cost of $18,000 per treatment, not including travel and expenses. It is unknown because of the nature of the disease how many treatments it will take to save his life.
