Bernardo Eggesbø - The Bardo Foundation
Bernardo was a strong, active and positive boy. From an early age he loved sport but particularly football, golf and skiing which he excelled in.
A sore knee, which we had initially assumed was a skiing injury, started our long and harrowing 2 year journey. He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (a rare bone cancer in children and adolescents) and his treatment started immediately. He had just turned 15.
Bernardo, known as Bardo amongst his Norwegian friends, accepted his grueling treatment with the utmost resilience and strength.
He focused on investing in his life to the fullest and never once let his illness over-shadow his love of life impressing everyone around him with his extraordinary ability to manage the most difficult and unexpected circumstances with his quiet determination and positivity. He taught us all so much about friendship, courage and how to live life to the maximum.
Bernardo’s wish and vision during his final months was to start The Bardo Foundation. A charity founded and managed by his family to help find a cure for osteosarcoma. Only a shocking 4% of cancer research funds are allocated to child cancers and the protocol to treat Osteosarcoma hasn’t been improved in over 40 years, which has to change. He, of course, would have been the CEO.
Our focus is in 3 areas. Research and development to cure osteosarcoma, raising awareness about the benefits of cannabis usage and finally promoting the advantages of a healthy lifestyle for cancer patients.
Please help us honor Bernardo’s wish by donating and spreading the word.
100% of donations will be used by The Bardo Foundation and his family will cover all running costs of the foundation.
With our love
