Bernard

Hi, my name is stephen. I am starting this gofundme to help a man named Bernard. I'm not too clued in with all this stuff but I will give it a go.

On Saturday 12th of July a friend of mine came across bernard in daisy hill A&E department. He got chatting to bernard on why he was there. That evening bernard decided he had enough of life attempted to end things. His back story is, he is homeless. Sleeping rough on the streets of newry almost 3 years now. He tried to get somewhere through housing executive etc but to be told he hasn't enough "points" gathered.

My friend Chrisy and myself have been helping this man as best we can since that night. Giving him a bed for a few nights, new clothes and hot food.

During this time we have got to know Bernard and he is genuinely a very nice, caring and honest person. Life has just not been kind to him and he finds himself struggling.

The aim of this fund is to try set him up with enough money to put a months deposit down on rented accommodation.

We have received a lot of kind donations from people near and far and it's genuinely so much appreciated.

At the moment he is nervous and doesn't want his photo shared but we have agreed that once we start getting him in a better place and hopefully a place to stay. We will update everybody with photos and how is getting on week by week.

If we could all try help get this person back on his feet and off the streets. We all deserve a little bit of help every now and again and this man needs it more than most.
