Bernadette Miracle Leukemia Battle Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Chris and I’m fundraising for my friend Bernadette Miracle who is very near and dear to me. Bernadette is an artist, a creator, she is a life giver.

Unapologetically Black, she would tell you, Bernadette breathes life into her friends, family, and her two little ones, who she is raising in a domestically violent situation with her abuser that she has a protection order against.

Leukemia has been trying Bernadette for some years now and she has beat it back time and time again. Currently, Bernadette is fighting the cancer back again. After nearly a decade of functional remission, this past October, her cancer, unknowingly, re-ignited with a vengeance. B’s condition took a turn for the worse but I’d venture to guess she’s most concerned about the path toward liberation she’s forging for her littles and how, as she recovers from this incident, she can be best with and for them.

Exhausted from a cancer she didn’t know had returned, Bernadette returned home to Tx (from WA) during her children’s mid-winter break that they were spending with their dad on February 16, 2024.

When she got ready to get on the plane to return to WA after a week of restless, illness-filled vacation in TX, a trip to the ER was instead on the itinerary. Admitted into the ICU, a rare dialysis type treatment was begun. Each day for nearly two weeks, Bernadette’s life depended on this machine being able to filter out of her blood the massive flood of white blood cells rampaging her body.

Her condition has regressed to a point where she needs to stabilize her white blood count enough just to continue routine chemotherapy treatment in hopes of getting on a second generation TKI treatment that will reduce her cancer to a one pill a day treatment suitable for parenting two littles. Without being able to work, Bernadette has exhausted her savings just to get by in these challenging times.

Bernadette lives in Seattle, WA. We need to get her home. The TKI she will take and her hospital stay will take her to her out of pocket max on her health insurance. She has excellent but expensive health insurance. She cannot and should not drive at this time. All the things you do not think cost much money when employed end up being your last dollar when unemployed.

We're looking to raise $50,000 for Bernadette so that she can financially stabilize in this difficult time, have the time she needs to recover from this resurgence without having to jump right back into the job market, and reduce her stress so she can focus on getting healthy and be back at home with her children in a thriving and supportive environment.

She has poured so much into so many communities. Her liberation journey continues. Join us as we pour back into this incredible Black Activist, soul baring, lover of all things gardening and house plants. This seeker, lover of joy and pleasure, this light bringer, this visionary justice bringer. An authentic lover who will hug you well, one of the strongest, wisest, most thoughtful people you will ever buy a cup of tea for. Let us fill her cup.

I appreciate your support. We, in community, appreciate your support.
