Berlin Music Internship

Dear friends and family,
As many of you might know, I only lasted one semester at CU Boulder. Essentially my time there was...uninspired. I did, however, come to the realization that I am in a place in my life where I need to become my own person in the world and start doing more of what enriches and inspires me … music and the music industry.
I have for many years dreamt of traveling abroad and during this past Thanksgiving, I discovered an agency in London that helps teens find internships in the music industry internationally. Learning about them, I began to think of the new possibilities and alternatives that could lie in the future.
I applied and interviewed, and then was accepted a couple of days later because of my passion for music, in addition to the experience I gained interning in the music business in Nashville for three weeks during my senior year in high school.
I chose the option to intern in Berlin, Germany because my Mom has more connections there than anywhere else in Europe. Also, after some of my own research, I discovered that Berlin has a huge music and art scene, especially for younger people.
A music industry PR firm called PullProxy offered me a four-month internship with the possible option to continue and I accepted. I also accepted an offer to intern in the music studio of Mark Jackus, an artist located in Berlin.
I officially withdrew from CU Boulder to pursue this amazing opportunity, knowing full well that college will always be an option. But I also know that actually working in the music industry is the best way to REALLY learn and make connections.
SO… I am off to Berlin on February 23rd! A good friend has offered me a small studio apartment to rent for $550 a month. I have been working for the past two months as a busser in Santa Fe to try to save money in order to help pay for my expenses there, also, with the help of my Mom and Dad. Since I won’t be paid for the internship, money will be tight.
This is why I am reaching out to you - to try and raise money to help support this big adventure/opportunity. ANYTHING you can offer would mean so much. I will try my best to keep you updated as the months pass. Thank you so so much for supporting me!
