Berklee College of music - Fall 2023 Tuition

Hi there! My name is Abraham Lopez, a composer and arranger originally from Costa Rica. I’m currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston and I’m about to start my third and hopefully final year. The focus of this year will be mostly on my major in film scoring, which has been my lifelong aspiration.

For my first three semesters, family savings and loans covered my tuition. For my fourth semester (Spring 2023) I started a fundraising to be able to cover the tuition free.

With this money I was able to cover the first out of three payments ($7000) which allowed me to enroll in classes. The two outstanding payments ($3500, twice) were partly covered through financial aid of Berklee and another fundraiser. However, I still have a $3000 outstanding tuition fee to pay for this semester.

Due to an unexpected increase in the tuition fee and considering the $3000 remaining balance, I am setting 3 goals for this fundraising campaign. Th first goal is to complete the $3000 balance I owe Berklee right now, which would allow me to register for classes. Furthermore, this allows me to receive an extension for the first out of two payments ($6000) for the Fall 2023 Semester. My second goal is to pay the first payment for Fall 2023 and finally I hope to be able to pay the second $6000 for the Fall 2023 Semester. In total, I hope to raise $15000 by the end of this year.

It is my wish to finish my studies at Berklee College of Music with a Film Scoring Degree. Not only because of the knowledge gained during the degree, but also because it has enriched my faith and personal well-being. Being in Boston and studying music has been a realization of a long-life dream and I do not want to be anywhere else. Yet, existing circumstances present challenges that have led me to reopen a fundraising campaign to secure the necessary funds.

I really appreciate any support yo can provide me and I truly hope that I will be able to achieve my fundraisers target to continue my pursuit in music!
