Berkeley High School NSBE Jr. Chapter Needs You!

Donation protected

The Berkeley High School NSBE Jr. Chapter, Region 6, is once again raising money to send its Chapter members to the NSBE Annual Convention. This convention showcases black students and professionals who have a passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

The NSBE Annual Convention is the premier event for the Berkeley High School NSBE Jr. Chapter, which joins STEM professionals, organizations, and NSBE Jr. Chapters from around the world. It is intended to help provide members with a “blueprint” on how to excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

In 2020 and 2023, your generous donations resulted in our ability to send 10 of the Berkeley High School NSBE Jr. Chapter members to the 48th and 49th NSBE Annual Convention. Read how participation in this conference impacted the Berkeley High School NSBE Jr. Chapter members who were able to attend the NSBE Annual Conference:

"The national conference served as a way to give more insight about engineering career paths. It was overall a very inspiring experience, and I took away tips on professionalism, and how to actually achieve success while in college. I mentioned the national conference in one of my essays for college as well."

“NSBE has helped me so much. It has helped me professionally and made me enter the world of careers and jobs. The national conference was an amazing experience ”

"My trip to Anaheim for the Annual National NSBE Convention was eventful and eye opening. I was exposed to a lot of information that expanded my perception of my major, what opportunities that can arise with my major, and my ultimate goal and direction in major. This opportunity came with great life, and student success advice but most importantly it gave me hope to see my future in the next 5-ten years."

"NSBE conferences are a great opportunity to learn about new technologies, connect with other professionals, and discover new career opportunities. The conference exposed me to different opportunities which continues to help me in my career decisions."

Our chapter’s key goals are centered around a single mission- to increase the number of culturally responsible engineers of color who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. We focus on:

- Providing support to and development of students in their attainment of increased learning in STEM-related topics.

- Advocating for access for all students of color to engineering prerequisites including Physics and Calculus.

- Cultivating NSBE Jr. Chapter members as leaders.
