Bergen Family needs our help!

The Bergen family needs our help! My friend Joe is one of a kind! He a husband, a father, a special education teacher at Desert Ridge High School, a coach and a friend to many. Like many of us, the Corona Virus has taken its toll on the Bergen family. Joe’s wife Cyndi is a nurse that has taken care of many that have suffered during the pandemic. Cyndi was recently diagnosed with cancer. Years ago, she fought hard and beat cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer is back! Joe has been the sole income during this time, on a teacher’s salary. He was bringing in extra money through pitching lessons (Joe loves baseball). Over a week ago, Joe tested positive for COVID. Even though he was diligent with social distancing, washing his hands, wearing a mask (he didn’t even eat lunch at school to avoid taking his mask off), Joe caught COVID. This news is tragic for his family. Besides the fact that he has been bearing the financial weight, now he is sick. A few days after testing positive, Joe’s special needs daughter also tested positive. Joe eventually was admitted to the hospital as his oxygen levels were dropping. He was released this past weekend, still on oxygen. He is going on week 3 of not working and the Cares Act allows for only 2 weeks of pay. Needless to say Joe and his family needs our help!
