Bereavement Support in Memory of Joe

We want to express our sincerest gratitude for the donations to the Go Fund Me site.  The outpouring of sympathy and love from so many has been almost overwhelming.  Thank you so very much. Susan will not immediately be returning to her job at Spruce Creek High School. It is our intention to use the fund specifically to meet our expenses while we take some time to consider our future. That is possible only because of the generosity evidenced here. With the posting of this update, the fundraiser will be closed. We wanted, once again, to express our thanks to so many kind and thoughtful people.

As you may know, a few days ago my brother Joe chose to end his life. Amidst the shock, sadness, and disbelief, my parents have so much on their plate to handle as a result of this tragedy. We recognize and appreciate those who have reached out to offer help, asking what they can do for our family. This fundraiser is intended to provide some relief so that my parents can figure out the next steps without financial concern, as Mom will not be returning to work. 100% of the proceeds will go to my parents. Money will not change everything, but we know that people want to do something to show their care.

1/15 Update:

We are stunned and so grateful at how quickly this has reached and surpassed its goal. I will leave the fundraiser open for a few more days in the event that there are people who would want to lend their support but have not seen it.
