‘Bereavement’ for Family of Jaquez T. Myrick
Donation protected
Greetings Family and Friends,
I am reaching out to you, grief stricken and brokenhearted over the loss of my nephew, Jaquez Tyreke Myrick. This is my middle sister Janet’s firstborn son, just 23 years of age. He was in a fatal car accident on the dark backroads in ATL (Douglasville) on his way home, near midnight the morning of December 31, 2022. We were informed by the police officers, that Jaquez was in the 7th recent fatal car accident in the exact same area. His body was just recently moved to the coroners’ office today, as they were backed up with cases; so planning for his homegoing service had to be delayed. We are anticipating his service next Saturday, 01/14/2023 at 11:00 am. We will confirm all details as soon as possible. Condolences can be sent to:

With all being said, any mother or parent can possibly imagine the heartbreak, grief, and uncontrollable tears from losing a child. My sister is broken and needs us, and is doing all she can to hold onto her faith and assurance in our God, despite all the questions and unknowns as to the cause of this accident; and how this could happen. It is so hard when tragedy hits us like this, out of nowhere, so unexpected and shocking.
Immediately, the next day, my husband and I made arrangements to fly out my mother, other sister, April, and myself, to be with my sister Janet. We all felt her and knew she needed us right now!!! So we are here with her since 01/01/ 2023, to help and support her day by day. We are all doing what we can to pick ourselves up as a family, and honor the beautiful life of this son.
Janet a single mother of four children, has done an excellent job instilling values, morals, and faith in God in her children. She was raised at Home Assembly Church with my children, as I brought all my young siblings to church. She came to know God for herself and was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit as a young woman, and God turned her life around and blessed her and her children.
Jaquez was an excellent son, a fine young man that touched people from a child and throughout his young life. He made many new friends in his early adult years and stood out as a unique , loyal, caring, and trustworthy friend to all he encountered. He had a contagious smile, and uplifting spirit of encouragement and positivity all his life. So funny, smart, intelligent, and fun loving. He was the man of the house, and helped his mother tremendously with all his younger siblings. He was the ‘rock’ in his family and stood in the gap with the absence of a father figure.
They say a woman can’t raise a man, but I beg to differ, with God all things are possible. My sister taught her son to love and put family and God first! She instilled responsibility, loyalty, and commitment as core values in her son at an early age. He was an ideal son and role model, you could not ask for a better son. He was always respectful, courteous, kind, and obedient. A great nephew whom I admired and loved. And fine young man!
I recall my sister called me on Mothers Day, May 13, 2018, and reported Jaquez went down in Jesus name and was filled with the Holy Spirit. I danced, shouted and rejoiced with them. This is our consolation to know without a shadow of doubt, he lived a good life and is resting in peace with his savior, in God’s bosom. God has confirmed with three witnesses to my sister, that it is well with his soul, and his spirit has visited to console his mother.
God is good and faithful, promising to not leave us comfortless, nor ever forsake us and will be with us always. He has assured us in his word that nothing can separate us from his love. So grateful that we don’t grieve as others grieve who have no hope, but our faith and hope is in God! We know that this is just a transition, because we believe and have confidence that there is life after death, and those of faith who die in the Lord, only sleep, until that great getting up day! God has gone to prepare a place for him as he will for us too, when it is our time to go home. We are encouraged to know in our heart, soul, and spirit, that we shall see this beautiful son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend again some day, when all the saints are called home. Peace to my sister and all our grieving family.
I humbly ask that anyone, family, friends, or acquaintances that have known or met Jaquez and his family or relatives, that if you are moved with compassion and love for this family, that you help support his mother and siblings through this crisis. She will be off work for sometime as she tries to get through this, and learn day by day how to pick herself up, and continue living, without her son’s physical presence. She has three more children that need her, Janaya 19, Jamari 16, and Javarus 11.
We need your prayers for their emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing, and their physical strength to get up and keep on going… Of course they are in need of financial support as well during this interim period. Please help with whatever you can, no amount too small, according to what God puts on your heart. My sisters’ family will be exceedingly grateful for your outpouring of love, support, and prayers
All proceeds will go directly to this family, via my sisters account.
Thank you and God bless you,
Big Sister and Auntie Maggie, aka Sis Maggie (Whitman) to many.
