Dear Member,
We appreciate that everyone is facing challenges during these unprecedented times of COVID. As a committee we recognise this and want to provide our members with the availability of cricket (as and when we are able) without causing any unnecessary financial stress. The committee has decided that for 2020 there will be no formal membership charge for either Juniors or Seniors.
Due to the minimal income we are in receipt of this year, we are managing our costs prudently and have extended our financial planning into next year to ensure stability for the club moving forward.
Prior to lockdown, we started to collate a list of projects / maintenance that we would like to carry out in order to improve our club facilities. Over the winter the nets were severely damaged due to the strong winds and need to be repaired, the square will need renovating and much of our machinery is long overdue a service. The project to level and re-seed the Red Lion field is underway and having to do it this time of year brings with it added costs of irrigation and upkeep.
As stated above, we will do our very best to get some cricket played this year, but as this is far from certain we will not be charging a membership fee. However, we as a club still have some substantial outgoings and would welcome any financial assistance members could offer to help us through these difficult times.
There is absolutely no obligation to do so, we know some personal finances will also be stretched at this time, but If you would like to make a voluntary contribution of any amount towards the upkeep of our club it would be gratefully received and appreciated.
Our club is unique. It is a community that sticks together through thick and thin no matter what we are faced with.
Thank you
