These last few weeks have been devastating as the coronavirus pandemic has turned our world upside down, shaking the very foundation of humanity and our interconnectedness. We are heartbroken over the loss of lives, and our communities devastated by the impact of the virus.
While we take this time to flatten the curve, our top priority is the health and welfare of the community. As we pivot to delivery and takeout, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and customers. We are torn as we work to provide livelihoods for our staff and performers while ensuring we’re doing what’s in the best interest of their health. This is a challenge many in the restaurant industry face in this unusual time and this is where we need your help.
We have limited ability to provide work for our incredible servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff who no longer have income to support their families or maintain their housing. Our performers — a cornerstone of the Berber experience — find themselves with no venues to perform and no clear path for income in the near future. Because of this, we’re reaching out to you and enlisting your help.
We have launched our Staff & Artist Relief Fund to raise $25,000 to assist our 30+ employees and performers to extend them a much needed financial lifeline. We hope you will consider making a donation today.
Berber is a special place and we hope you will assist our team in weathering this difficult time until we can again be a hub for great food, performances, and hospitality. With your support, we know we can look forward to a better future.
