On October 29th, 2025, our lives changed in an instant when our home caught fire. The entire attic, and electrical system went up in flames, one spare room was completely destroyed, and another bedroom ceiling has started collapsing from severe fire and water damage. Half of the living room ceiling fell in too, and the floors throughout the home are soaked and have water damage.

This home belongs to me, my husband, our granddaughters, two dogs, and even our snake and thankfully, all made it out safely. My husband suffered some minor burns while trying to put the fire out, but we’re just grateful everyone is alive.

We’re now facing a long road ahead. The house isn’t livable and won’t be until it’s completely remodeled, a process that could take months. Our insurance doesn’t cover temporary housing, so we’re trying to raise funds for hotel, motel or airbnb stays, food, and basic necessities while we recover and find stability again. We luckily have places for our pets to stay in the meantime.

We also lost most of our bedroom furniture due to the fire and water damage, so we’re hoping for help replacing a queen-size mattress and frame.
