Ben Westerhouse is an amazing man. To know him is to love him. He is a long time resident of Ft. Myers Beach, FL. He is a hard worker, great friend and world's greatest dad to little Benny. He loves to be out doors fishing and surfing. He is the buyer at West Coast Surf Shop and has been in the surf/action sports industry for 20+ years. Ben also has ALS.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig Disease, attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord causing the brain to lose control of all muscle movement. At this time there is no cure for ALS.
We, as Ben's friends, colleges and family would like to raise enough money to cover his growing medical expenses. He now needs round the clock care and in order to keep him home with his son we have a lot of work to do.
I know many of you did the Ice Bucket Challenge or are at least aware of it. While we are so grateful for this campaign and $63million it raised for ALS research as well as the awareness it has brought to this disease we urge you to take a minute and donate directly to this special father and son. The money that we raise here will pay for Ben's daily care and any excess will go to little Benny and his future college education.
